ANNOUNCING THE PASSING OF FREDERICK HARVEY HOWALT, JR., FOUNDER OF TEXTILE RUBBER & CHEMICAL CO., INC.

Dear Colleagues –

I am saddened to share that Frederick Harvey Howalt, Jr., my father and Founder of Textile Rubber & Chemical Co., Inc., died peacefully at home on July 6, 2021. He will be greatly missed. Harvey was cremated per his wishes and there will be a private family service in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for any memorial donations to be made in Harvey’s name to the Creative Arts Guild or the Peeples Cancer Institute, both are located in Dalton, Georgia. Please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers in the oncoming days.

Harvey, as everyone knew him, played an instrumental role in the development of latexes, polyurethanes, and specialty chemicals for the carpet industry as we know it today. What began as a supplier of latex to the emerging tufted carpet and rug industry in 1952 has grown to a global company with 20 divisions, subsidiaries and affiliates serving various markets around the world. Read more here.

Throughout the years, we have remained true to Harvey’s vision to provide innovative solutions, maintain outstanding quality standards and deliver superior service that focuses on our customers’ success. As always, we have worked closely together to strengthen the foundation of our company for our trusted employees, partners and those we serve.

With Sincere Appreciation,

Chip Howalt, President, Textile Rubber & Chemical Co., Inc.
